Yosemite National Park Hosts Naturalization Ceremony

Glacier Point Provides Spectacular Backdrop for Ceremony

What:

In recognition of Constitution Week and Citizenship Day, observed annually on September 17th, Yosemite National Park is proud to partner with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to host a naturalization ceremony on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the famous Glacier Point, overlooking Half Dome and Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park. 



Yosemite National Park is one of several National Parks hosting naturalization ceremonies during Constitution Week, this week commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States and recognizes those who have become naturalized U.S. Citizens.


The ceremony will feature U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)Fresno Field Office Director Lynn Feldman, Tim Rios, Senior Vice President of Community Relations for Wells Fargo, Yosemite National Park Deputy Superintendent Teresa Austin, and additional representatives from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services providing remarks and administering the Oath of Allegiance to the new citizens. 


The diverse group of  43 newly naturalized citizens hails from all over the world. The new citizens will be joined by their family and friends as they celebrate the end of their journey to become American citizens.



This special event will be held at 11:00 am at the Glacier Point Amphitheatre. Please plan to arrive early. The drive from the park’s South Entrance to Glacier Point is approximately 1 hour.

        Parking is available on site – Please arrive early.
